LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that the process of country’s growth has been stopped for the last many decades.

During a press conference at Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Iqbal’s residence in Lahore on Thursday, former prime minister said that the country has not seen any uplift since Ghulam Ishaq Khan suspended the assemblies.

He blamed the army generals for all the maladies facing the country, saying that none has ever thought of country’s progress and wellbeing. He claimed that, ‘there was no poverty and inflation in my tenure’.

Answering a query about the poisoning of a family by its own leader, Nawaz Sharif sympathized with the family and said that ‘the family would have been alive had they been given the financial help bit earlier’.

He urged the bogus degree holders belonging to his party to quit themselves thus saving both the party and their own faces. Replying to a question, he said that relationship with India should be boosted for regional harmony and constancy, and added that Kashmir issue resolution is possible only through dialogues.
