Addressing a gathering of the PPP Lahore Division at the Governor House, the Prime Minister said that the government wishes to bring Baloch leaders into mainstream politics. He said that the PPP wants to reopen the case of judicial murder of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and added that the lawyers in the party should make a team for the purpose.

He directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to hold thorough investigation into the murder case of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and make the report public.

The Prime Minister said that there should be some crystal clear mechanism for providing financial assistance to the deserving people. He said that the Prime Minister Hepatitis Program is being implemented across the country and added that if there are some doctors in the party, they must help the government to make a successful policy so that the people can get clean drinking water.

He said that a Board of Governors can be set up for the PM Hepatitis Program to make sure its effectiveness. The Prime Minister said that the Pakistan People’s Party is a big political party and it has deep roots in all the four provinces including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.

A government source said Cameron would not apologies for his forthright remarks and added: “No, he said it and he meant it.”

During his India visit, Cameron July 28 warned Pakistan against exporting terrorism to India, Afghanistan or anywhere else in the world.

Cameron said: “We want to see a strong, constant and democratic Pakistan, but we cannot tolerate in any sense export of terrorism, whether to India, Afghanistan or anywhere in the world.”

Pakistan reacted last week by cancelling a conference on terrorism co-operation.

On Sunday, a British Labour MP said the comment were “inflaming” opinion among British Muslims.

“A lot of people of Pakistan origin are hugely inflamed by this. They feel their country of origin has been criticized for no reason other than point scoring. He (Cameron) is just trying to curry favor with the Indians,” Labour MP Khalid Mahmood was quoted as saying.

Pakistan’s Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira told the media that President Asif Ali Zardari would present Cameron with “the facts on the ground” during their Friday meeting.

“The president of Pakistan will make clear and have a dialogue and good discussion and he will explain the facts to the new Government over here. We hope that the new leadership over here, when they get the exact picture, will agree with us.”

Earlier, political opponents and partners of the ruling party had stepped up pressure on him to call off his planned visit to Britain in a snub to Prime Minister David Cameron. Instead, the president jetted off to France on Sunday in the first leg of his two-nation trip spanning over nine days. Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira, the Information Minister, insisted that the president was going to the UK to “forcefully” take up the issue with the UK leadership.

During his three-day stay in France, President Zardari is scheduled to meet President Nicolas Sarkozy and Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner besides visiting a famous Paris museum where Gandhara art is on display. The president will be on official visit to Britain from August 3 to 9. He will be meeting Cameron on August 6, only days after the latter made, what some contend, were insulting remarks against Pakistan and its premier spy agency. However, government officials say the trip will go ahead as per schedule at all costs.

Last week, Prime Minister Cameron, speaking at a news conference in India, accused the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) of having relations with those terror groups operating against India and Afghanistan.

It was former premier Nawaz Sharif, the chief of his own faction of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), who joined the “chorus” against Zardari’s scheduled visit during which he would also inaugurate his son Bilwal Bhutto as chairperson of the ruling party.

“Cameron has snubbed the Pakistani nation so I think Zardari should not visit Britain at this phase,” Nawaz Sharif told reporters in Nowshera after visiting the flood-hit areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Separately in Islamabad, PML-N information secretary Ahsan Iqbal said in a statement that there was no justification for Zardari’s foreign visit at the time when the nation is reeling from deadly floods.

Various quarters had advocated that the money being spent by the president on his trip and at a political meeting in the UK be donated instead to victims of this week’s floods which have overwhelmed parts of the country.

In Lahore, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan also announced to launch a protest if the president goes ahead with the plan of visiting the UK.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, who himself lives in London, has already advised Zardari not to embark upon Britain’s tour in protest against Cameron’s statement. ISI chief Lt-Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha has already cancelled a scheduled visit to London after his statement in India.

But a couple of federal ministers and Zardari’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) said the president’s visit would be in national interest as he plans to raise with British authorities Cameron’s statement.

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira expressed concerns that Pakistan-UK relations could be affected if Cameron repeats his assertions against Pakistan on the subject of terrorism.

Speaking at a reception hosted by the PPP UK chapter in London, Kaira said Prime Minister Cameron’s statement has “surprised Pakistan and hurt the sentiments of its people.” He said President Zardari during his visit to the UK would “forcefully take up this issue” with the British leadership.

Lesson:

This Hadith shows that, for a Muslim, trials are also a blessing in this world because his sins are forgiven in proportion to the trials he has to face and his reward is increased with the Will of Allah. Thus, a Muslim should always be patient and contented in the event of trial because without these qualities he will not have the privilege associated with them. In fact, his impatience would increase his sins even further.

The Prime Minister said the cause of Palestine and its people were dearest to the people of Pakistan. He said,” the government of Pakistan has and forever will support the restitution of the rights of Palestinian nation for a fully independent sovereign state”.

The Prime Minister said his country had always been in the front position to call for an end to Israeli carnage, unlawful settlements and human rights violations through obstruction of Ghaza, at the United Nations and other international forum.

Pakistan wishes long-lasting peace in the Middle East and supports the Arab Peace Plan calling for comprehensive settlement of the Palestine-Israel and other Arab-Israel conflicts through removal of Israel from the Arab territories occupied in 1967.

The Prime Minister pointed that Pakistan was amongst the first countries which had strongly condemned Israeli attack on May 31, on the Freedom Flotilla taking the humanitarian supplies for the overwhelmed people of Ghaza.

The presence of Pakistan’s media team and a Pakistani pro-Palestine activist abroad the flotilla, was reflective of the solidarity of people of Pakistan with their Palestinian brothers as well as of their concern on the miseries caused to the people of Ghaza by Israeli barrier.

The Prime Minister asked the Palestinian Ambassador to communicate his best wishes and personal regards to President Mehmood Abbas. He also affirmed that his government would examine the contents of President Abbas’ message and a reply to it would be conveyed to the Palestinian government.

Earlier, the Army moved into curfew-bound Srinagar to help out the civil establishment in maintaining law and order and staged a flag march on airport road following violence had left three people dead. The flag march was conducted on the Srinagar Airport Road from 10:30 am, a defence spokesperson said.

The state administration had sought the help of the army in the wake of spiraling protests in the capital. Curfew imposed on Tuesday after three persons were killed supposedly in firing by security forces is being strictly enforced in the city.

Curfew was also in force in Anantnag, Pampore, Pulwama and Kulgam in South Kashmir and Kupwara and Bandipore in North Kashmir. Limitations were enforcing at Sopore and Baramulla where Army also staged a flag march.

The military was called out on the streets of Srinagar late last night to impose the curfew keeping in view the non-availability of sufficient number of police personnel, many of whom have been deployed for Amarnath Yatra and counter-insurgency operations, official sources said.

On the deployment of the military in Srinagar, state minister and Congress leader Taj Mohiuddin said, “We requested the army to help us in maintaining peace. Peace is our main concern. They will be the helpful force we need for keeping calm. “The district management thinks that the army is needed to keep calm in the valley. The anger is there,” he said.

State Law Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar asked the public to respect the curfew restrictions. “We will severely implement the curfew restrictions. Administration will try its best to reinstate normalcy. We are trying our best to normalize the circumstances,” he said.

Referring to stone-pelting protestors, he said, “Some elements, some agencies were getting the youths on the roads for implementing their political program. So we are trying our best to manage the situation. It is just the question of saving the people from this state of affairs”.

The state administration has advised deputy commissioners throughout the valley to implement prohibitory orders in their respective jurisdiction. They have also been instructed to impose curfew wherever essential, an official spokesperson said.

Police vans fitted with public address system announced imposition of curfew this morning and also advised people to stay behind doors. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had appealed to the public to keep calm and not to violate curfew restrictions.

Lesson:

As mentioned above in Surah Maida Ayat 110 “when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection). “O ‘Iesa son of Maryam! Remember My Favour to you” Favour of Allah can only be earn by Trust in Allah does not mean that one should not give any importance to material resources. What it really means is that along with their due importance, one should have full trust in Allah. Without His Will, material resources are of no avail. But nevertheless it is necessary to have material resources because their procurement is also ordained by Him. Birds do not keep sitting in their nests for food but fly out in search of it.

The party workers gathered at a function at the President House here to observe July 5 as a black day as on this day in 1977 General Zia-ul-Haq through a military takeover, removed the democratically elected government of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Presiding over the function, the president of the PPP Women’s Wing, Faryal Talpur said that her party is proud of its workers who went to the prisons and faced lashes but remained devoted to the leadership. PPP’s Secretary General Jahangir Badar said that the party’s struggle spanned over forty years and it was ongoing from generation to generation. He said that the party would be organized and services of workers would be acknowledged. Speaking on the occasion, Shahida Jabeen, who remained in jail in the early days of the martial law, said that when the government of Shaheed Zulfiqar Bhutto was ousted in 1977, the working classes resisted the martial law government.

She said that she courted arrest along with 11 other women at the Committee Chowk in Rawalpindi. She recalled that how a worker namely Abdul Waheed Qureshi put himself on fire to demonstrate against the martial law.

Resident Abdul Gani said Bhatt did not join Monday’s protest and was playing cricket when Indian paramilitary soldiers hit him with sticks and threw him into the river. Protests against Indian rule in the Himalayan state have grown more and more strident in recent weeks with Kashmiri people condemning government forces of killing at least 12 people during street protests.

Also Tuesday, an Indian border sentry was killed by gunfire emanating from Pakistani land, an Indian official said. The firing started as India’s Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers were returning to camp after patrolling the border between India and Pakistan during the night, said J.S. Oberoi, a top border force official. Oberoi said an investigation was under way to conclude whether the soldier was shot by Pakistani guards or by insurgents trying to sneak into the Indian part of Kashmir from Pakistani land.

In the meantime, angry residents of Tengpora region in Srinagar, Indian Kashmir’s main city, poured into the streets and clashed with government forces. Administration forces fired on the protesters after they failed to scatter the stone-throwing protesters with tear gas, a police officer said on situation of secrecy as he was not authorized to talk to the media. Fayaz Ahmed Bhatt, a 28-year-old protester, was killed on the spot and two others were injured, the officer said.

Manas Ranjan, a spokesperson for the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force, said his soldiers did not shoot on the protesters.

As the news of Bhatt’s killing spread, separatist activists in Srinagar used public address systems of Mosques (Masjids) asking public to join the demonstration. “Our protests and civil defiance will go on until India withdraws its armed forces and paramilitary soldiers from all occupied areas,” said Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a key separatist leader who was leading thousands of marchers in downtown of Srinagar.

Carrying black and green flags, the protesters chanted “Go India, go back” and “We want independence” as they marched through the streets. The recent turbulence had prompted authorities to impose a curfew in most parts of Kashmir for a week. It was lifted on Tuesday excluding for the southern town of Anantnag.

An anti-India feeling runs deep in Kashmir, which is divided between India and Pakistan and is claimed by both. Separatist politicians and armed militants refuse Indian autonomy in Kashmir, and want to carve out a separate motherland or merge the Himalayan region into Pakistan. More than 70,000 people, mostly civilians, have been martyred in the armed conflict since 1989.

Hazrat Abud-Darda’ (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah  [S.A.W.W]((P.B.U.H) said, “Those who frequently resort to cursing (people) would neither be accepted as witnesses nor as intercessors on the Day of Resurrection.”

Lesson:

The habit of taunting and cursing makes a man sinful. Such a person has no value with Allah, and his testimony and intercession will not be considered on the Day of Judgement.

Hazrat Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah  [S.A.W.W]((P.B.U.H) said, “Shall I not inform you of one of the gravest of the cardinal sins?” We said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah   [S.A.W.W]((P.B.U.H)  !” He   [S.A.W.W]((P.B.U.H) said, “To join others as partners with Allah in worship and to be undutiful to one’s parents.” The Messenger of Allah   [S.A.W.W]((P.B.U.H) sat up from his reclining position (in order to stress the importance of what he was going to say) and added, “I warn you making a false statement and giving a false testimony. I warn you against making a false statement and giving a false testimony.” The Messenger of Allah  [S.A.W.W]((P.B.U.H) kept on repeating this (warning).

Lesson:

As mentioned above in Surah Al-Ma’idah Ayat 106 “shall not hide Testimony of Allah, for then indeed we should be of the sinful.” and also in same Surah Ayat 8. “O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice.” The contents of this Hadith make the gravity of making a false statement abundantly clear, hiding truth and blocking way to justice for needy by delivering false statement or not reveling the truth were needed to save innocent. How unfortunate indeed it is that, like other major sins, the evil of giving false testimony is very common among the present-day Muslims. May Allah prevent us from it.

Gas prices for delivery on Thursday were level on the previous session’s day-ahead price at 42.75 pence per thermal on Wednesday. 

The British gas system was underprovided early on Wednesday, but traders estimated the market to balance out later in the day. One liquefied natural gas tanker is due to arrive in Britain on Thursday, and one more was seen anchored off the British east coast on Wednesday morning.

Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet Muhammad Messenger of Allah   [S.A.W.W]((P.B.U.H) said, “No one of you becomes a true believer until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself”.

Lesson:

As mentioned above in Surah Maidah Ayat 105. “If you follow the right guidance and enjoin what is right (Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbid what is wrong (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden) no hurt can come to you from those who are in error. We learn from this Hadith about the importance and virtue of mutual love among the Muslims. If we act upon the injunctions mentioned in this Hadith, the Muslim societies will be immediately purged of the evils like exploitation, bribery, dishonesty, falsehood, cheating, forgery, etc., which are rampant in them at present. Islam has taught golden principles to its followers who have unfortunately neglected them and in consequence are leading a life of utter disgrace and moral turpitude. May Allah guide them to the Straight Path.

Liberal parliamentary speaker Komorowski received 40.7 percent of the vote, ahead of 35.8 per cent for Jaroslaw Kaczynski, a conservative former prime minister, according to the polls. A contestant required 50 percent of the vote to avoid a second round of voting on July 4.

Pre-election polls suggested Komorowski, 58, would succeed a runoff against Kaczynski, 61. “In life, as in football and all sports, it’s extra time that’s the most difficult,” Komorowski, 58, told cheering supporters in his Warsaw.

The exit poll by the TNS OBOP agency for Polish public television was released as voting ended at 8 p.m. Partial official results are due early today.

The polling consequence gave centre-left Social Democrat Grzegorz Napieralski an unexpectedly high 14 percent, and both Komorowski and Kaczynski scrambled to praise him.

“Napieralski’s supporters will vote for Komorowski,” said sociologist Professor Edmund Wnuk-Lipinski. “If Napieralski decides otherwise, he risks losing the political capital he won during the campaign.”

The sudden election was called after Lech Kaczynski died alongwith 95 others, including his wife, Maria, and top political and military figures on April 10 when their aircraft crash in western Russia, leaving Poland reeling. They had been heading to a memorial ceremony for thousands of Polish officers killed by the Soviets during the Second World War.

Domestic goods sales were up 1.7 percent in May with electrical retailers reporting strong demand, the ONS added. The numbers come after a trading update from Tesco this week reporting sales of some TV brands almost doubling in the run-up to the contest.

Some retailers have tempted consumers with money-off offers for trading in older sets, offering cash back for each goal scored by England and even refunding the price of new Televisions fully if Fabio Capello’s team lifts the trophy for the first time since 1966.

Sales in May were also helped by a strong increase in food sales, offsetting lower clothes and foot-wear volumes, while the numbers were also flattered by a descending revision to April’s data.

Yearly expansion reached 2.2 percent; the highest rate since last November, although the less volatile quarterly figures showed a more modest 1.7 percent increase over the same period in 2009.

IHS Global, Insight economist Howard Archer said retailers would be hoping for an excellent run from England in the competition to boost up sales further in June, although many clienteles will be eyeing the impact of Chancellor George Osborne’s emergency Budget next week when the World Cup jubilation fades.

He said: “Further out, it is hard to be hopeful about the projection for consumer expenditures.” Shoppers self-confidence has been heading downwards recently, and response is likely to be further pressurized by the grisly details next Tuesday of the financial squeeze that is on the way.”
